DPWH Task Force Speeds Up Construction of Lung Center Modular Hospital

The Task Force to Facilitate Augmentation of Local/National Health Facility of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is fast tracking the set up of off-site modular hospitals at Lung Center of the Philippines (LCP) to further manage healthcare utilization.

Secretary Mark A. Villar reported that workers are speeding up the construction of additional five (5) cluster units of off-site hospital at LCP with the goal of augmenting the Center’s healthcare service capacity.

“This will greatly benefit the hospital as it will increase its bed-capacity with additional 110 rooms for management and treatment of COVID-19 patients under moderate to severe and critical cases,” Secretary Villar said of the modular facility that will be operated by LCP.

DPWH Undersecretary and Task Force Head Undersecretary Emil K. Sadain together with DOH Undersecretary and Treatment Czar Dr. Leopoldo Vega recently inspected the construction of LCP modular hospital where on-going installation of modular frames for the off-site health facility are progressing with sense of urgency.
